Vistalites

Dude in Virginia wants to trade a blue vistalite, 13,16,24, for my two Club Date drums, 12,20, plus a Standard metal snare.

DON'T DO IT! Obviously, you posted this for our opinions. Look some more for a floor tom instead.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I've been looking for a floor, most are $500 plus, I've been trying to sell the two Club Date drums because I can't afford to buy a floor tom. Seeing as how I have a Ludwig 13,16,22 in silver sparkle and it's been tough selling the two Club Date drums, I figure the vistalites would make a nice second kit or at least, easier to flip.

I can't argue with your reasoning. Good luck. My intense dislike for Vistalites colored my opinion.

Make sure there are no major cracks around the lug screw holes, etc. I'm not partial to Vistalites, but they were THE thing for a minute back in the 70's, so they do have historical significance. I think the blue ones were the most popular color. People used to like to use Evans blue hydraulic heads on the toms...because they looked cool and tended to tone down some of the resonant qualities to a manageable point. Some people swear by them...others swear AT them.

Ya, he said there were no cracks, if I do this deal, I'll probably just sell or trade them off. I'm not crazy about vistalites, but I know a lot of rockers who are. Plus with the 24" kick, I think they would be easy to flip.

Hoops are not correct they should be silver sparkle inlay and black hoops

Gary aka houndog

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

The T rods on the bass drum don't look like Ludwig either. They look like generic MIJ or Ludwig Standard so factor the cost of two hoops and 20 T rods into the calculation.

I know that, I've already been offered $900 if I get them.
