Trying to coax the best sound out of an old six lug Beverley snare, 6 x 14 most likely birch, have new Evans heads for it and a set of 16 strand German wires. Thinking the correct batter side triple flange hoop would be advantageous. I really haven't the knowledge of hoops to choose. Help me out.

Got a 2.3mm Gibraltar triple flange. Really made the difference.
