Matched set of mid 70’s hollow logo Zildjians

Loading...

Boys ,

I’m selling off the last of my good stuff. My playing days are behind me now and I need the money more than I need the gear so off they go to whoever is lucky enough to be the next caretaker.

For sale: A matched set of hollow ink logo Zildjian cymbals. These pies were purchased as a matched set in the early to mid 70’s by the original owner. I am the second guy to own them. There are no issues with any of them. No cracks, dings or key-holing. No stains, dents or scratches. This is a nice, clean and excellent sounding set of vintage pies.

The set includes:

22” ping ride - great stick definition and I love the bell on the thing.

18” thin crash - explosive and it cuts off just when you want it to.

16” crash - crystal clear and it cuts like a samurai sword.

A set of 15” New Beat hi-hats that are to die for.

Priced for quick sale.

$550.00 plus shipping.

Whoever gets this set of brass is going to be a very happy camper. Photos on request. Serious inquiries only please. PM me.

More goodies to follow...

John

I swear Mike I thought the price I was asking was practically giving them away. I respect your opinion and I will take your advice.

I will entertain- fair offers - for my gear.

Low ballers, please don’t waste your time or mine. All fair offers will be considered.

I’m keeping good thoughts for you and Anna. Tell her I send my love and best wishes.

Regards to all.

I didn't comment on this John. I think that was Wayne. Thank you for the good thoughts and wishes though. And certainly the same to you.

Wayne I think that John found these all together from the original owner. They are very nice cymbals. And if they were mine and I was selling, the prices would be inline with what John has them priced. Hollow Logo models are great cymbals as well.

I agree very sought after

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Hollow ink logo is late 70's/very early 80's. Hollow Block stamp is mid 50's.

And not to be confused with the AVEDIS reissue that also uses the Zildjian hollow ink logo.

I sold a 70s hollow logo original set like yours for $467.50 shipped via Reverb back in 2017. Some sizes were smaller. 15s are often more valuable than 14s. I believe it helped to post the weight of each cymbal. GLWS!

20" 1922g

18" 1431g

16" 1051g

14" top 869g

14" bottom 905g

The 15”s are hard to find and especially in a matched set. I’m not going to break them up. If they get sold they will remain a ‘set’. The 15”s are the reason for the price.

Mike - Gary, thanks for notes.

John, its great to hear from you! I truly wish I could buy the cymbals but Im sorry I just cant spend that kind of money right now. If I did have money I would pay your asking price because it sounds fair to me. Good luck with the sale, looking forward to the other"goodies"!

Thank you!
