My research of Liberty drums lead me to this snare. I was wondering is this pre-Slingerland? The folks selling it think it is made by Slingerland and marketed as Liberty. Is it an original Liberty 1926-27? What am I missing?
Is This Liberty Snare Rare?

As discussed in the other Liberty thread and on the article on the Slingerland section of this site about the three point strainer, I think it's real possible that it was assumed Slingerland made drums for the Liberty brand, when in actuality it seems Slingerland bought and copied Liberty.
So, my guess is that the drum in question pre-dates Slingerland.
The first snares that Slingerland sold were made by a company called Geisler.
