the original A. Zildjian & Cie.

Made by Aram, the same guy who taught Avedis III the craft. It closely resembles an early 1930's type Avedis Zildjian. The bell shape is quite similar for example. And it's interesting to note there's very little in the way of discernible hammering marks. It's seems as if these were hammered with a broad impact hammer using a lighter touch that what's seen on the old K. Constantinoples.

It's historically significant and overall a very nice example of a very rare cymbal.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

The bigger, the rarer. Nobody had ever seen anything larger than this that I know.

I have a couple of old Zildjian cymbals.

The one with the cut out is definitely made in Turkey. It’s 11-1/2 inches.

The other one is 12 inches and the stamp was not that good so it may or may not be made in Turkey.

Any input from you Vintage Drum Gurus would be appreciated.

Thanks

Both of them are Constantinople K's from the late 1930's.

Here are photos of the under side of the cymbals and they have a signature in the bell similar to the other photos.

Those are some very nice cymbals. Not too many still have signatures still visible like yours do.
