Well, I bought my second onyx kit, this one is in a red onyx finish. All Cleveland tags and there are no cracks in the wrap.
Rogers Red Onyx Drums
Wow that's very nice, love the dark red,great price. You have 2 Rogers kits now?, or did you sell the other?,
Selling the black onyx?, with so many rave comments on it?
Can't keep track of your kits
Nice one again Johnny. By the way, do not take those onyx kits out to shocking temperatures, whether hot or cold, but especially cold. That wrap is now at least 50 years old and it will snap in a heartbeat if you don't take care.
How about a side-by-side photo of the red and black together. Also, don't you think you should invest in a blue onyx kit now?
Sorry I couldn't buy the black onyx kit, but must needs on the farm.
Still, I have my trusty little black diamond kit that will (hopefully) someday soon be resident in the barn. [Attachment: 131874]

Hey Dan, good idea. Btw, nice kit, I use to have one just like it, only with a 16" floor tom.Clapping Happy2
[QUOTE=johnnyringo;462658]Ya, I want to buy a Ludwig kit.[/QUOTE
In my opinion, that's like someone who drives a Corvette, and wants to replace it with a Ford Fusion. I think that I won the prize for betting on one month for the over/under wagering on how long you'd be happy with the Black Onyx Rogers set.
Well, it wouldn't had happened had I not stumbled across the red onyx. Actually, it was on cl for several months and I was watching it. He came down enough that I took a shot and offered him a grand, expecting him to say no. When he gave me the ok, I jumped on it.
Btw, the black onyx sold yesterday, just hours after I had bought the red onyx.
I'm not sure I agree with your analogy, I love Ludwig as much as I love Rogers. Since I already have a Rogers, got to find a Ludwig.
