The first step is admitting you have a problem. The next step is hiding that problem. I sold a fly fishing rod on eBay this week. It sold to a guy from South Africa stuck in Puerto Rico because of Covid travel issues. He asked to me if I would forego putting an invoice in the package and instead put a note in it saying "Hi Derek here is the rod you left behind." I didn't pry, but if I had to guess, I would say he was hiding his fishing gear problem from someone.
I admit I have a problem, but it's a fun problem that's usually worse when Im bored and not gigging. I haven't had a gig since the end of February, so, I'm doing pretty good.
Sometimes I'll post a kit on cl just to see if I get any reaction and then quickly take it down when I come to my senses, as I did with the Rogers. I have to admit, I was a little bummed that I didn't score that mismatched Ludwig kit.
