I hope that fate smiles upon you as it did with me for my recent Rogers acquisition. I also made a new friend with that connection. Good luck with finding a matching snare for that beautiful set. Maybe this Rogers set will stay with you for a long time.

Ya, I really like Rogers and they are the one kit I have no problem using the original tom arm. I dig this one because it has the swivel tom arm and the cymbal mount, I just need to find an L-arm.

They are out there. If you don't find one online, try Al Drew's in Rhode island or The Jollity Drum Farm in Argyle, New York. Both store owners are Rogers devotees.

My crystal ball tells me that this will be in the for 'sale listings' here and in the central Texas CL in a month or so...

When I was a teenager (and played guitar exclusively) there was a middle-aged dude that would hang out waaaay to much at the local music store. For a long time we all thought he worked there. His name was Barrington (I have never been sure if that was his first or last name) and he was my first encounter with someone with the same "affliction" that Johnnyringo appears to have.

Barrington would buy/sell/trade gear on a literal daily basis. He would never have a large collection, just one amp, one guitar, and a few effect pedals. But every single time I talked to him he would have a different rig. This was an amazing accomplishment considering we lived in a small town in eastern Oregon with just a single music store, and it was the early 80's, so no cell phones, no craigslist etc. He had the "GAS" so bad that he wasn't really even concerned about improving his rig. He would make a silly trade just to be able to play through something different and free up some cash to buy some weed (possibly a compounding factor). He owned every piece of used gear in town at one time or another, and sometimes more than once. Though trades and silly deals with Barrington I ended up with pro level gear long before my playing ability could back it up. In less than a year I went from an entry level Ibanez and a little Yamaha practice amp to a Les Paul and a 50 watt Hiwatt combo (one amp that I wish I still had). My parents just loved the window shaking headroom of that Hiwatt as I mangled my way through Scorpions and AC/DC cover tunes.

Anyway, when I read these posts from/about Johnnyringo it brings back fond memories of Barrington. He was "patient zero" for my own gear sickness for sure.
