I just picked up a Jan 1967 Ludwig OBP kit and it has the bass drum cymbal mount with the "L" arm and cymbal holder. However, the rod piece that actually holds the cymbal has gone missing. I thought about trying to use a tension rod, but it is too big.
Anyone have a replacement or a solution so I can use the original arm?

Is the opening where the missing part is threaded or not?
If it's threaded, you can just find an appropriate screw and cut it to length.
If it is not threaded, you can cut threads in with a thread tap, Once you cut the threads in, you can use a screw that is the same thread size. In either case, you can secure the screw in with JB Weld so it won't ever come loose.
Just measure carefully, or take the piece to the hardware store with you and ask for help. The one advantage you have here is that the threads on those tilters are very short, whereas now you can have the threads as long as you want them!

I ended up taking a tension rod and filing down the four corners until it barely fit into the hole by pounding it into the hole. I removed it and filled it with a JB Weld mixture and pounded it into the hole to set.
