Yeah, if we'd gotten that barn 30-40 years ago it would have been filled with the sounds of a band. Now it will just be little ole me. Still good though.

Idrum4fun is a real mensch: "a mensch" is "someone to admire and emulate, someone of noble character". In other words... a righteous dude. Look what just showed up at my house pictured with one of the 8x12 toms from my 1966 Rogers Top Hat set. It was expertly packed and in a nice black vinyl snare drum bag. Luxor snares are among my all-time favorites. I am at a loss for words to express my surprise and gratitude to a new friend.

Very, VERY cool!
Great outcome in every way. A gracious giver and a grateful receiver. The match is stunningly perfect. Someone is about to have a lot of updated fun.
I am incredibly thrilled that my Luxor was able to find a new home! The Luxor was purchased as a complete drum, but I ended up transferring all the hardware to another Luxor shell that was wrapped in original Champagne Sparkle. The silver sparkle Luxor shell just sat in a box for a long time. Once I saw leedybdp's picture of his Top Hat kit, minus a matching snare, the light bulb in my head went off! While there are non-period correct parts, and non-Rogers parts, I think the Luxor came out great. Like many of you, I've collected way too much drum stuff over the decades. So much so, that it just seems like too much work to offer them up for sale. Way too much work! But assembling this Luxor brought me quite a bit of pleasure. I couldn't be more pleased with its new home...and owner!!

Wow great match, what a gracious giftClapping Happy2
Here's a fairly decent shot of the set. The room is too small to take better pictures. When it finally stops raining, I'll try to get some out doors pictures.
