I'm in need of some specialty Slingerland parts that Jim has, so have tried calling him for a week now. All I get is his voicemail and can't leave a message as it's full. I'll try again and see what happens.

Just tried the website and it's up! However, I just noticed that the OP's original post was from 2007!!
Anyway, I tried calling Jim right now and can't leave a message because his message box is full. I got to tell you, this has me a little worried, as I've been trying for over a week to call Jim. I've never had an issue with reaching Jim for years now, so not sure what's up.

Jim's a great guy even though he's a little quirky about some things. His products and workmanship are outstanding. When the Rogers drum company was first offered for sale, Jim was eager to buy it. But, things did not go his way.
