Looks like a luan shell....which would lead me to think it's a Made In Japan (MIJ) drum...likely made in the Star or Pearl factory back in the 70's. But I don't know what to think about this e lug screws! Ummm...yeah

Interesting strainer, 6 lugs, carbolite muffler knob, deep flanged S-hoops -- it's indeed mystery snare...

I can suppose Italian made. Hex heads were popular there but these seems to me as homemade screws here.

It would be interesting to hear Luca opinion.

Thank you George for the correct clue where to find the answer to my question “who made the drum and when?”. I reviewed the available information on the Internet about drums made in Italy. Indeed, hexagonal bolts were distributed in Italy. I turned to an Italian musical instrument expert, Roberto Cavedon, for help. He said the following.

Drum Trap - AMAT manufactured in Italy in Turin in the 60s

Amat was founded in 1959 by Enzo Battezzati, an experienced percussion musician,Amat company (Affini Music Articles Turin).Amat has always been distinguished and appreciated all over the world for its range of more than 200 products, drums and bass drums, produced in series or on order with sizes, type of wood, finishes and colors selected for the customer.

I took the drum apart for restoration. They are all original but badly damaged by moisture.

The screws are original. The heads are hexagonal top in a semicircle, the entire screw is chrome-plated. Such until today are produced in Italy.

The silencer is the biggest problem, because half of the spring part and the felt were not preserved. I don’t know how the silencer looked in the original. Since I didn’t find information on the Internet and the followers of the company AMAT are silent.
