Getting closer to that elusive birthday drum

Loading...

I know I should not have but I picked up a very nice vintage WFL 14" snare drum in red sparkle finish. It has a date stamp of Sept. 15 1958 ... 12 days after my birthday. This snare appears is in very good all original condition. Original calf head on top. Original Ludwig Playon snare side head with stickers on the inside. Also has the rare original blue extended snare wires. The chrome over brass hoops are in good shape and the lugs have some scratches and light pitting on them. Looking forward to its arrival !

Wanted to share with the vintage crew in these stay at home times

Nice, I had the exact red sparkle drum with trans badge dated January 1959, those are beautiful sounding drums, 5.5x14. Congrats nice to get the original wires, i didn't have those and impossible to find, also impossible to find the aftermarket puresounds. I sold it because I found a 58 wfl classic bdp to match my kit and had the puresounds on it, I took them off to save them and ordered some 15" 16 strand Fatcat wires that work very well. Enjoy it Cool1
