He used various components and not all Gretsch. Mix-match, whatever sounded good. I heard an interview with him about this very topic but ask him, he will tell you more than me.

You have heard of the musical band "Bad Company" most certainly and Simon Kirke was/ is the drummer of that particular musical group.
