We had actually talked about this drum some months back! I will say, he's persistent!-Mark
That's putting it nicely, Mark.
Yes, I'm definitely trying to be nice with this!! I do find it amusing how one comes up with a price. Even if it was NIB, I really wouldn't see more than $2500 for it, but even $1000 would be a good offer. It's still a Luxor and not a Powertone or Dynasonic. In the end, we can all agree that it's only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Well, since I'M not interested in buying it, I just find it kind of amusing. I hope someone buys it for that price, though. There are people out there who can easily afford it. Heck...If I win the lottery, I might just buy it! ;)
The price of all ''vintage'' snare drums is crazy!! And we are all to blame! no one here is innocent. Im sure we all have gotten into bidding wars with each other that just drive the prices up. cmon really ludwig pioneers going for $499 slingerland student models going for $399. Its a sad joke that we are all in on and im guilty of driving the price up if i cant afford it myself. Like my ld boss used to say '' theres a ass for every seat" and some sucker is gonna buy it. When is the bottom gonna drop?
Well...at the moment, people are hoarding toilet paper and rubbing alcohol...some willing to accept the price gouging going on over it all...It's really just a matter of priority. If you want a drum or a kit that you've been looking for and you've been waiting for it for a long time, then you might just have to be the "idiot" who pays the price...Who knows what's going to happen next? Right?
I own a 1964 Ludwig Pioneer in gold sparkle...original heads that have never been off...It's easily the best snare drum I've ever played or heard...I paid $5.00 for it. That's right...FIVE! It's worth many times what they "should" go for....because I say so...But of course,
it's not for sale, anyway...but if it was...it would be Gladstone prices! (true story)
Could be low feedback newbie that just doesn't know or someone testing the waters for a sucker buyer...

Very Rare 60's Vintage Rogers Luxor Black Onyx Pearl Snare Drum 5"x 14" . This may be the best Black Onyx Pear Luxor Wood Snare Drum left on the Planet, from the early 60's. Having said that, there are some wear marks on the rims but very small, with no rust. The Original wrap has no marks and no cracking. The lugs are also pristine with great shine and luster with no rust or pitting. The rest of the hardware looks to be original and also in great shape. The bottom head might be the original, the top head has been replaced by a vintage remo. The Drum also sounds awesome! I will entertain best offers on this rare piece! Thanks for looking.
Price - $9995.00 or make offer
Cheers
C'mon, the guy told his nagging wife, ok, ok, I'll put it on EBay. "See hon, there it is, it should get a bite any day now!"
