Taiwan Made Drums

With all the hysteria over the Coronavirus, I wonder if this will slow down imported drums from Taiwan.

I say that in jest, every election year there seems to be a new virus that sends the media into panic mode.Eye Ball

With the Wuhan virus sweeping the earth. It remains to be seen. But I've played some mighty fine sounding Taiwan made drums. The gretsch catalina's are awesome sounding drums.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

The best thing that can happen out of this now is that American companies, like drum builder's, will bring at least some of their production home now. Something like this was bound to happen, yet American companies seemed completely unprepared. Let this be the wake-up call that relying on far flung countries that cannot be entirely trusted for our products and manufacturing is a dangerous and foolhardy endeavor.

Do you guys honestly think you can get Covid-19 handling a set of Asian drums? Sorry, that's far fetched.

Ludwig Accent&Centennial are made in Taiwan BUT with North American maple shells,

I used to own a natural maple "Bonham" sized Centennial kit,

With the exception of WRONG size rack tom (13" as opposed to CORRECT&RIGHT size 14" tom Bonham actually played/used)& a wood snare instead of aluminium,

With correct/right tuning they sounded like cannons!!!!!.I agree 100%/wholeheartedley with DrumBob, here in Australia most if not ALL of the major supermarkets have run out of bog, crap, pooh,**** ,paper!!!!!, inc tissues!!!!! FFS!!!!,IT'S NOT WWIII!!!!!.The media has to &MUST STOP this propaganda scare-mongering resulting in panic buying!!!! :(.

Of course not, that's the point, the media has blown this way out of proportion, like the vaping scare, some stores here in town have banned them, but they still carry cigarettes, that makes absolutely no sense.

I get it, and I agree. The media is going berserk about this thing and they're scaring the general populace to death, making the stock market tank, hurting the hotel, travel, cruise and airline industry, etc. It's even hurting the live music business.

Sometimes, I hate the media for what they do. They latch onto a sensational story and milk it to death, and in this case, they're causing unnecessary panic. Someone with some credibility needs to come forward and make a public statement to try and ease fears. Not the current occupant of the Oval Office.

If you are relatively healthy, this is no big deal. Most people will get mild cold-like or flu symptoms and then they'll recover. People have been saying this all along on the news, but no, the media goes ape over it and everybody freaks out. It's shameful. I'm all for prevention though.

My wife is a public health RN and she's not concerned. My daughter is a CNA and EMT, and she's not particularly concerned either.

That's funny you mentioned the current occupant of the oval office because the other, dark side has been trying to blame him for the virus, but let's try to stay focused on Taiwan made drums, jeepers, there sure are a lot of them and they all stink-o-las.Toilet

They are what they are; starter sets for kids or adults on a severe budget. I think we all know that. I see them all the time on craigslist for little money. It's usually parents who are trying to get rid of the drums after little Joey begged for them and finally decided that drumming was too much work and took time away from his video games.

I have a good end purpose for these cheap drums. Buy them, fix them up and give them to a charitable organization. I'm donating that red sparkle MIJ set soon to a non-profit music school in Newark, NJ. Probably next week. They will be happy to have them and you're doing a good deed.
