From kevins

Myself along with 600 co-workers will have lost their jobs at the plant I work in over the past year.... our product will soon be made in Mexico. The plant I work in, and one other will be closed Dec. 1st.This is two of many plants owned by this company, some in the U.S.A. and some overseas. These closings are not part of an effort to save the company, it is very profitable the way it is.It is about greed. In a time when America needs all the jobs within its' borders as possible, I find the maneuver particularly slimy. And they are building two plants in China this year.Jerks.............

There is the real problem GREED it is in everything we eat, touch, drive,it infects our goverment and now the good old boys from the south with their outdoor shows about quote"hunting" ha ha even have dropped to the level of making money off of wildlife... yes this country is in the toliet and look in the mirror to see part of the problem it is US.... I am now boycotting over 50 companies for outsoursing their jobs and for screwing over the American People... I also will never send a vintage set to Italy,or anywhere else not in or close to North America... Do your part buy nothing not made here and not involved in stupidity for money's sake..

I was going to stay out of this conversation! But I will ADD this in support of our Overseas collectors......

Selmer USA really does not give two cents to the history about the Ludwig division. They were not prepared for the 100th anniversary. Had no budget in place and they really did not promote it much.

On the other hand the European dealers/contingent went out of their way to bring WFLIII over and treated him like royalty and promoted the drums and the history like it should have been done here in the states.

And now to international shipping....

I rarely ship International.. Mainly because I have to actually travel to the USPS to get insurance. When you ship with the PayPal/Ebay system you can't purchase insurance on International shipments.

@ david. After buying stuff from the states on eBay, i never had problems with insuring packages and having them shipped to Germany after using Paypal. I once had a problem, but that was because the insurance didn't kick in because the seller had packed the drum (a Vistalite Kick) really badly... That's that.

Concerning the Ludwig 100th Anniv.: I added the Poster that was out for their German/Dutch Promotion thing. Sadly i didn't have time to go, but one of the Guys organizing said, it was a huge success.

Yes, that is correct. When I ship through eBay/Paypal I use their system to process the labels and ship packages.

On USA-USA shipments they offer insurance as an option, but when you ship USA-International you can't buy insurance through that online PayPal shipping system.

The only way to get insurance is take the package directly to the USPS and pay and ship it through the USPS.

Personally I do not like traveling to the USPS, so I prefer not shipping International for that extra time, energy and fuel.
