B/O BB in the 1000-2000 range??? Seriously? I've never seen that. hmmm....

I can't imagine they would be worth that kinda dough. They were good drums, but not GREAT drums. Interesting. I find this very very difficult to get my mind around.

Yup, but they have to be from the 70's, not the new ones. The engraved ones go for even more. It's been a while since I've seen a 70's BB go for less than $1K. Here's another one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370247319364

That was a MAJOR score with that 70's Black Beauty!!! The new B/O badge ones sell in the $500 range, but the 70's ones usually sell in the $1000 to $2000 range: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Ludwig-Super-Sensitive-Black-Beauty-Snare-Drum_W0QQitemZ300364343727QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVintgae_Drums_Percussion?hash=item45ef1c29afI'd say you did very, very well!

Yes, when I was reading this thread, I was gonna write the same as above...

Those '70s BBs, especially a 6.5, are very desirable and go for way more than $500...

Nice score on the BB and cymbals.

If it's the German made F2000, it's a reasonably decent kit. The shells are poplar and fairly thick and I know of some guys that love these drums and gig them. Power sizes I know, but try some emps on the toms and you will have a really nice sounding kit. A great practice room kit IMHO. If you don't like it, it should sell on German Ebay no prob.

I have a F2000 snare which sounds very good BTW.

@ drum_dad: thanks for the input. yeah it's a German Force 2000. i know the kit ain't too bad, but i already have 4 kits (two vintage ludwigs, a modern pearl and a modern ddrum maple). i thought i'd keep it as a rehearsal kit to just have in a friends band room, but, even though the wrap is rough i guess it's just a shame to "only" have it standing around "just in case". i guess i'll sell it and rather buy another snare, or safe for more vintage stuff :)

i'lll try and sell it. makes a great starter kit as well...
