Camco Repro Badges for sale!!

Now that I've got your attention, does anybody know anything about these or has been able to compare to the real thing?

They say that Hoshino has produced these for all eras....

I just heard back from the good folks at the Drum Center of Portsmouth.

I had asked earlier if they could inquire with Hoshino the following:

Is the Repro-Badge the original size? Baked enamel on Brass?

NOS or currently being made?

Hoshino replied: "Original size? – If not perfect, should be extremely close. Not real baked on enamel; the lettering is embossed and the white area is printed. The badge is brass material. We are currently making these now, they are not NOS".

Has anybody here had a chance to compare these in person?

(first time (I can recall) a manufacturer reproducing "their" badges.. Pretty neat I guess

That's a very nice gesture by Hoshino. It certainly could not produce much revenue for them.

They have to put product out there every so often or they would lose rights to the name Camco. Doesn’t get much cheaper than making badges!

I picked up an Oaklawn badge. Hard to tell the difference. Also has an adhesive backing. Very nicely done!

Do I understand correctly that the owners of the Camco name do not also own the design rights to the turret lugs that DW appropriated from Camco?
