What you have is a Hollywood kit (if I remember correctly)....but ONLY if you get the 12". You would be way better off for resale if you have a named configuration...well the shell pack, anyway. Get the 12" if you can....my 2 cents.

Of course, coming from me, you won't appreciate the suggestion. Here's one of several single tom holders (this one is from Ludwig) that will fit in the receiver mount that is already on your bass drum. I used this piece on a set that had your same exact receiver on the bass drum.

Why do I need that? There's nothing wrong with the original tom holder.

OK...Do as you wish. I really could not care any less than I already do about what you do.

It really sounds like you do, it sounds like you care about everything I do. You're on the verge of being a stalker. Maybe I need to get a restraining order. Laughing H

O-lugs, I think you're right. If I remember correctly, both the Hollywood and Big Beat came in 12-13-16-22 configs and it was the choice of hardware that differentiated them. This kit has the flat stands that went with the Hollywood.

Johnnyringo, did the stands come with the kit? Or did you have them already? And for what it's worth, since you buy/sell your kits, I would agree with O-Lugs to grab the 12" for possible future resale.

Current sets
2018 Precision Drum (natural maple, 10/12/13/16/20)
Gretsch USA: 1958 3-ply (white pearl, 12/16/20), 1976 6-ply (12/13/16/22), 1998 6-ply (walnut, 8/10/12/14/16/20)
Slingerland: 1963 (BDP, 13/16/22), 1966 (Sparkle red, 13/16/20)

THANK YOU! "Big Beat".....I couldn't remember the name. Big Beat had the Atlass hardware pack and the Hollywood had the regular stands.

I already had the stands, I chose not to take the 12 because I would not use it and to save me from spending more cash. I traded the Gretscherland kit which I had about $500 invested and $500 cash. So, I have a grand in the Ludwig as is, aquireing the 12 would cost another $150. I'm not worried about re-sale, I know if I did decide to sell, I could get at least a grand, probably more even without the 12. That being said I have no intention of selling this kit any time soon.

Understood, Johnny....But, on the other hand, if the kit is a matched kit to begin with, then it might be nice for some future collector to have the whole deal....Maybe you wouldn't use it, but you could keep it for when you want to re-sell it, or to hand down as a complete matched Ludwig kit (shell pack) to a son, daughter, niece or nephew, etc. This is how/why matched kits get broken up to begin with -which makes it harder to find a matched kit for we (us?), the people who cherish matching stuff. If it's just the sound you're after, then of course the matching aspect is meaningless....but it's not meaningless to everyone later on down the road! :)

Ya, it's a matched kit, would probably be a good idea to keep it together. I'll ask the owner it we can work something out for the 12" tom.
