Mexican Made PDP Drums

Maybe they have enough parts inventory for both lines to just keep building both until they run out of parts for one line? That would not be the first time that plan was used by a drum manufacturer.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

ardrummer! It will be easy to re-wrap your PDP kit. As you noted, the air vents are easily removed. My PDP used logo badges that were attached with machine screws and nuts, which were also easy to remove. I'm guessing that your kit is the same?-Mark

Yes, it has the threaded air vents and badges with screws/bolts and nuts....sure makes it nice when re-covering them :)

Here is the re-cover video and the demo. I am going to take the bass drum pillow out and maybe do another demo....it was killing the resonance.

I have had many of these kits pass through my hands, as I help students buy drum sets. The CX, LX, and MX series kits are great-sounding drums! I like them more than I liked my old DW kit. I had often thought of purchasing one for myself and rewrapping it. You did a great job on yours! Kudos!

Is that sparkly gold wrap the real thin kind with the adhesive backing?

Thanks! Yes, they are great sounding drums! Doesn't hurt that they are North American hard rock maple shells :) You should definitely pick one of these kits up. You can find them all day long for $300 or $400 bucks (shell kit that is).

No. The material is actually called "vinyl fabric". It does not have an adhesive back. It's very similar to the thickness of a typical drum wrap...just more pliable.

Am I the only one here that thinks having a discussion about pdp drums would be more suited on the Tama or Pearl forums?

It's like having a discussion about Pete Best in a forum dedicated to the great American drummers.Coffee Break2
