Such a cool kit! If George Jetson or his boy Elroy played the drums, they would play this kit!Cool1They obviously fell into the right hands, because you are restoring these very nicely. Crazy that anyone would paint over that green sparkle wrap, but I guess people go with what's in at certain times. Green is pretty rare.How do these drums sound? Probably a good rock sound.

yes indeed...a friend had owned the set since 1982, and that's how he bought it.

loving the project and it was fabulous to see the green sparkle underneath all that paint!!

I Will let you know how they sound when the restoration is finished and for sure I will be gigging it too!!

ok update...

final tom stripped of the white paint and now ready for some polishing!!!

next up the bass drum but this has no green sparkle remaining so i will have to use st drums for the green wrap...!!

another update in about 1 week!!!

Hi Grantro...

6ply was regular for the bd shells without reinforcing rings. 3 ply for shells with reinforcing rings. and Trixons only ever used Beech or birch wood for the shells!
