Why not use the new ATLAS bass drum spurs ?
They look great, are rock solid, and don't any drilling.
All you do is remove a lug, and there you have it !��

Both are beautiful. Mind BlowiI'm not sure I could have parted with either one! Red glitter shows very nicely under the lights.
I agree, Johnnyringo's sets were gorgeous! My new one looks just as good (yes, I'm biased) but it's caused some consternation on the part of the girlfriend. In her words, "How many sets do you need?" I don't think she liked my answer "All of them" either... (the joys of middle aged dating.)
I'm still waiting on a couple of parts to arrive (bass drum head, stands) but I've put the Evans G1 coated/clear heads on the ride toms and floor tom. They tuned up VERY well, in fact, they were easier to tune than my '63 Slingerland set. I have a 1960s Ludwig Pioneer snare in my collection that I'll put with the set for now.
Hopefully next week I'll have it playable.

Great! Glad the bass drum spurs worked out. Yeah, you could use the new ones but you are "right" to get the real deal. That's what I would have done, too.
I am a diehard Remo drumhead guy and I feel that the coated Ambassadors and Diplomats are the closest thing to what the old Weathermasters sounded like. Too bad they don't make good Weathermaster heads anymore....*sigh* Oh well.

Well crud, I was hoping the legs would fit. I guess for now I'll use a pair of hoop-mount legs. I've attached a photo of the legs that are bent. As you can see, they have significant bends in them.
Nothing wrong with hoop mounted spurs. I love these ones from DW which I have on my Slingerland 24". Drum came with no holes so wanted to keep it that way!

I have the same ones on my Slingerland set. The original spurs are still there, but the bass drum creeps when I play. The DW hoop-spurs keeps the bass drum in place.
