Slingerland/Zildjian Price Check

Loading...

I've been offered this 6.5x14 Slingerland TDR snare in a black chrome over wood finish. It's only missing the stick saver hoops.

There's also a 22" Zildjian Sound Lab Prototype cymbal that was signed by Armand Zildjians daughter, I don't know if that's a big deal.

Both are in great condition, any thoughts on value for each?

Thanks.

$350.00 for the TDR and $150.00 for the Zildjian

By "value", do you mean what you should pay or what it would be worth for resale?

As to the snare drum, yes, it's missing both original hoops. I also see that the muffler knob is not original. Looks like all tension rods are non-Slingerland replacements.

I would buy the drum for $350 if all parts were original. To me, the drum is worth $200 at most, due to those non-original parts.

I was offered these in trade for my Leedy kit, the one pictured sold for $550 on Reverb.

I wouldn't trade the Leedy Kit unless that cymbal really spoke to you. You may not be able able to trade the snare later for a value you may want with the non-original parts.

I'm probably not going to trade, it was just a thought, would rather get the Leedy sold.

Some of the Sound Lab Prototypes are excellent cymbals. Armand has three daughters. Craigie Zildjian is the Chairman of the Board and CEO, and her sister Debbie Zildjian is the VP of Human Resources. I don't believe the third sister is active in the business. Whose signature is on it? And, is it a real signature or an ink stamp? If its a real signature, probably Craigie's .then Drumaholic or Zenstat might be able to tell you if it adds any value at all.

The cymbal was signed by Debbie and I believe it's a real signature.

Interesting. I had read that Craigie had signed some cymbals but I wasn't aware that Debbie had as well. I would guess it might call for some small increase in value as a curiosity, but I really don't know. As I mentioned, if Zenstat or Drumaholic chime in they would probably be able to give you a more accurate appraisal.

It really doesn't matter, I'm not going to do the trade.
