Pearl guys - a little help !

Hey Pearl guys, I need some on info on this Pearl Export series snare drum that I found on my local classifieds and that I've been contemplating using as a spare for one of the pubs I play at. Here's what I know so far from researching on the internet. Looks to be an early 2000's Export Select series with a wood lacquer finish, made from poplar wood. This is all I could find so far. Questions- Are these decent snare drums, (bearing edges good ? throw-off smooth ?) From what I know of pearl exports since I was a kid, is that they're built like tanks and can take a beating. This one seems to be a short lived, much improved version of the 80's exports I grew up with, and share an aesthetic resemblance to the Masters series the badge and finish. Anyway, the seller says to make an offer. We're talking Canadian dollars, so what would be a fair and decent price to ask for this snare drum ?

Any thoughts and info is appreciated as always.

Just make an offer? I'd say $75 Canadian Dollars, but that's just my guess.

Thanks for your reply DrumBob !. I'd like to know a little more about this version of the export series before I decide to make an offer. I was actually thinking the same price range you had given, but it just boils down to deciding to buy it based on its construction, sound and reliability.

Cheers,

Rob
