I'm saying probably COS, based upon the shell. The COB usually has the 3 rings around the drum, the COS just 2. Usually. Let us know for sure.

Just found this exact snare drum in the 1976 Pearl catalog over at drumarchive. It came in both steel AND brass shell models... D4514 for steel and B4514 for brass. Would be pretty cool if it's the brass model!

IDFF is exactly right. They did brass and steel of that exact shell. Mine is from 1972 same as yours in mint cond and is COS. Tuned up these snare drums are amazing. Even if its steel still a fab drum you wont want to part with it once restored.

I have this exact same snare as well. Mine is steel and, as stated above, the 2 bands typically indicate steel, 3 being brass. I love the sound of this instrument, and I think you’ll be pleased with it’s tone at a variety of tunings. The bonus is the Gladstone strainer without the broken top arm. Mine is intact as well. Be super careful with that strainer - you may know that original replacements are pretty scarce. These are great instruments and you got a great deal - congrats and enjoy!
