Are you one of the few who still has the round cap for that snare throw ?
I've had a D-424 and this D-471 and neither has a cap. I've seen repros on the market, or rather snares with repros, but I don't think I've ever seen an old Sonor with the cap still on the throw in person.
Here's a 1950's "transition" kit I made from 50's shells and early sixties hardware. The veneer I applied myself (quite a PITA due to it being raw and not paper-backed). There's a thread I posted about it on DFO:https://www.drumforum.org/threads/sonor-late-50s-kit-restoration.125623/
