I think you got a very fair deal.

To me, a good price point for a nice clean set of MIJ drums is right around $300 to $450, so yeah, I like the deal you struck, and he is meeting you halfway. So good all-around I'd say! When I see folks tell us that they got there super clean MIJs for 50 bucks and a 6 pack of Bud...well, let's just say I'm a little bit skeptical!

My very first kit as a kid was a set of Stewarts. I think they were a stencil of Pearl. True? Anyway, nice score, sir!

I think you did good! Condition is everything and the wrap looks great on this kit. My first set of drums, a Lyra kit, had the same orange/gold sparkle.

Got the drums home tonight and here's a photo. They're in superb shape, I think. All they need is a light cleaning and new heads and they'll be ready to gig next weekend. And yes, that towel has got to go! I'll get pre-muffled heads front and back. I have no plans to play it as a five piece, so the 8x12 will probably sit unused, like all my other 12" rack toms.

Thanks. I'm putting a black head on the front of the bass drum. It'll go well with the orange/gold sparkle. perfect for a Halloween gig. I have a gig locally this coming Tuesday night.
