Hi Dag!

Thanks for supplying those pictures, which help to explain about those two sets of bass drum spurs! Having the Super Setomatic tom holder is the most likely reason for the extra set of spurs. Looking at both the 1977-78 and 1979 catalogs, just about every kit used 2 pair of the 727 spurs. Yes, there were exceptions. Also, if the bass drum used the Super Setomatic, there would be two sets of spurs. The 20" bass drum was probably custom ordered, with the Super Setomatic and two sets of spurs! Mystery solved!
