Beautiful, or just grandma’s linoleum?

Mr. Sticks,That’s a brilliant idea. I play in a 60’s rock and roll band. I’m picturing myself dressed as you described behind those drums. Maybe some big ol’ black-framed Buddy Holly glasses on...

Yeah, that is THE look for that set of drums! The Dave Brubeck 5 look. So totally cool. Those guys maxed out the cool meter.

I personally prefer the original Black Oyster of the 60's to the "bowling ball" finishes. But with that said, I prefer the 80's version of WMP compared to the original and the current offering they call WMP, while most prefer the original finish from the 50's/60's, which is very different from the 80's version and today's version.

All in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? ;)

Nothing beats first gen Obp

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I have never seen linoleum that looks like that. Bowling balls? Yes. Linoleum, no.

L-Dude, I prefer the original OBP too, but most examples have either turned a greenish color, or the seller asks a price as if Ringo comes with them!

I know exactly what you're talking about, @jaghog! That 70's blue oyster pearl stuff that they call the "bowling ball" version is exactly that same style. In fact, I've often seen those old linoleum floors and thought, "That would make a cool drum wrap!".

Nope, never lived in a city and hope to never live in a city. I'm a former suburbanite who's now a country boy.
