Need some help to identify this Slingerland Snare.
Serial number : 224256 ( so 1975 )
It has a double snare system
One for the reso side and one for the batter side....
Very cool!
That looks like a modified Slingerland with possibly a Premier pipe band snare system.
I can second the opinion that the batter head internal snare system is from a Premier pipe band snare drum. I don't remember exactly but I think the Premier model was called a Royal Scot. Still it is a cool drum. One incontrovertible test is to play the drum with only the top snare system engaged and see if you develop an unexplained desire for fine single malt whisky...

Haha, tried to play it with the top snare system engaged and it would sound great in a bagpipe parade.
Early '76 Buddy Rich model. Mods as noted by others.
Does the top strand of snares make the drum sound like gnats passing gas when it's engaged? You know.......that annoying sound that has become pretty much standard in drum corps. Why don't the drummers just carry a slab of a Formica counter top and play it with heavy plastic sticks?
