My drum room is just a corner of my basement.
Let's see your drum room!!
I am amazed at how organized and neat everybody's drum rooms have been so far. I decided to post some pictures of mine as an example of an advanced case of "PAD" (percussion accumulation disease). I have some instruments and hardware stored in my garage and some parts and spare material stored above the garage. Most of this is a result of working at the Steve Weiss Music booth at the Percussive Arts Society conventions (PASIC) every year since 1981. My wife is very understanding obviously, but there is only domestic tranquility as long as the instruments stay in the agreed upon rooms. Sorry for the quality of the photos, holler if you need a clearer image. Thanks, Joe
Hi Joe!
What a great Music Room! It's like going into a drum store! Love it!

Mark and Oddball,
Thanks very much, it is my version of a man cave I guess. The round brass things at the top of some of the photos are Chinese (also called Peking Opera) opera gongs or bending gongs. When you hit them in the center fairly hard the pitch bends up (on the right group) or down (on the left group). I have not used them a lot, but you never know when a Chinese opera will come to town with missing luggage...

Just love your percussion room and vast amazing collection - very cool !!

Doug, Thanks very much. The drum set may look odd since I use it mainly for teaching. I have a throne, high hat, and snare at the front of the bass drum so I sit opposite the student. We both play the same bass drum and turn the music stand. It is not an optimum set up but it saves a lot of floor space. Here are some more photos of "drum room ****"...

Looks very well organized to me. I thought I had a lot of music "stuff" - WOW ! Smart kit setup - space is always a problem for most of us - I get it. Rock On !!
