I'm interested in getting this clean Leedy kit in a bdp finish. I think it's from 1965 and all original. Any ideas of a fair price? Thanks.

This feels like it would be up the alley of Leedybdp. LoLoLoLo
Try $700.00. Or less !
Really? That low?
I see a thumb bolt screw on the floor tom mount
Is that a big deal? Enough to make it only a $700 kit?
50% positive those would be termed amongst the knowledgeable, Slinger-Leedy drums, hence.. read the article and check

"the Leedy drums that were produced by Slingerland from 1956 to 1965 were basically Slingerland drums."

in other words those Leedy aren't the Leedy Drums of their glory period.
Hence why everyone is saying 700 +/-
I've only had one Leedy kit. It was from that era. These were badged on all 4 drums, so they were last of the line from what I've gathered. I liked them a lot, but sold them when I made a major move down the East Coast. I did keep my eyes open for a replacement for a while, but have since discontinued that effort. Although essentially a Slingerland drum, I like the look of the lugs and rods & claws. It gives them their own character.
They have gotten hard to find so I think the relatively rarity lends some extra value. However, I think the BDP finish is not one of the most popular and that tends to reduce the price. I am retaining a BDP Rogers kit in ME. I got it for a short price that I think is partly related to the color. It was very popular in the 50's, but seems to have been a good deal less popular in the 60's when you had the oysters, onyx and ripple finishes plus sparkles taking over.
All in, I agree the $700 range is correct.
Ditto the above
Now if the snare is old stock single ply now that’s a greatvdrum
Snare? Who said anything about a snare?
Once again, I think you guys are low-balling the value of the kit. In my mind, the Leedy character plus-up outweighs everything. Try finding a 60s Leedy - you'll find 20 Slingerland kits for every one Leedy. Frankly, I don't think of BDP as a minus, just not a plus. Like blue or red sparkle - typical.
Sure looks clean to me. Weigh the advantage of a no-work acquisition into your equation.
But frankly, JR, you don't seem to keep kits in the stable very long, so are you really more asking about flip-value?
