Anyone make 5 inch T-rods?

Loading...

Greetings everyone, first post.

I have a 1955 Slingerland 28x10 bass that I am using as the basis for a 1920's style trap set. This was a former school band drum and is pretty beat so I am restoring it (re-covering it; replacing the lugs which all are at about 60% chrome; and buying new hoops and heads).

about 20 of the 24 tensioning rods (key type) are bent; I would really like to replace them with T-rods but can't seem to find anyone who makes them in a 5 inch lenth.

If you guys can point me in the right direction I would apprecate it

Thanks

George

All I can think is to buy generics from someone like Drummaker.com and cut them down to proper length...just make sure it leaves enuff thread to completely tension the heads.

Those are the only sizes I can find on any of the building supply sites. You may have to search ebay for this one.

Maybe some Ts from a clubdate bd, they should be longer?

I think I have it figured out; thanks guys.

The bass has some pretty worn lugs so I was going to replace them with new repros anyway (the chrome is all flaked off on the high parts); so if I go with longer tube lugs I can make the 4 1/2 inch T rods work.

I'm still only seeing that size in regular key turned tension rods, guess I'm not looking in the right place.

I found some 6 1/2" on drummaker that are the 'key type', I am looking for the ones that are the 'T type'

Gibralter or Cannon makes some that are 5" from the top of the 't' though. they might only be 4.5 from the washer to the end of the threads.. Lookin for a link...
