Hello, my fellow vintage drum enthusiasts..this is my first time up here posting and i'm glad to be a new member.. !! i have a really great and kinda rare,50's , 6x14 leedy and ludwig snare drum..now i've checked out some sites on the internet that tells me i either have what's called the reliance or standard model from that era..not quite sure of the year, but it's definitely 50's..i personally did a little restoration work on it and bought all the missing parts from the ludwig factory and had them shipped here to Canada..it's a mahogany shell with maple reinforced hoops, and nickle plated imperial lugs..i put triple flanged hoops as opposed to the original which are single flanged, but it still looks great ! it looks and sounds fantastic..i just need a little help from my new vintage drum friends to give me a ball park figure, for insurance purposes..so if anyone can help me i'd really apprecite it !!

thanking everyone in advance for their help..

Cheers !

Could you post some pix so we get a good idea of what it is?

A rough guess without pics, if its a 6-lug between $125-$175, 8-lug about 10% higher. These were considered the lower end of the spectrum when it came to Leedy & Ludwig snare drums, the Broadway models being the top of the line at the time. Figure 2-3 times that for a Broadway......

Not sure what parts you had shipped from Ludwig, but nothing made now would match a '50s Leedy and Ludwig.

If there are no extra holes, and you put back all the original parts, the drum is probably worth $150-225 for an 8 lug drum...less for the 6 lug model.
