Just got this... There are no logos on the heads... does this mean anything.

Also, a small dent in the bottom hoop...

Otherwise it is in great shape.

I'm going to be honest, I think the drum was overpriced. I could be wrong and maybe others have opinions on this. But, if you're happy with the drum, that's all that matters. As to no logos on the heads, yes, it does mean something. It means that they are cheap/inexpensive heads to make the drum look good. Nothing wrong with that, but the drum will be best served with a new set of quality heads...Aquarian, Evans or Remo.

On the subject of inexpensive heads, they do serve a purpose. I'm now buying these "no name" heads from Drum Factory Direct for use on many of my display drums. It allows me to not use expensive "professional" heads for drums that will just sit on a shelf. They are also excellent to re-head a kit for sale without having to spend a fortune. The seller should just be honest about the heads!

I cannot positively date this drum, the D97xxxx tags are too random. Most likely 81-82/83 The bottom hoop will be hard to replace. Price... is on top end of 5x14 SuperTen snare drums.

Hi,

I actually paid $300 plus $18 shipping.

The drum is in great condition other than a small dent in the bottom hoop which has no affect on tuning.

There is not a scratch on this snare

Great sounding snare with the right heads nonetheless!! I have both the 5" and 6-1/2" script versions (1973) and they are my favorite "go to" snares...
