Info about Ebay seller "Counterhoop"

No misrepresentation. He clearly states for a snare batter, not snare resonant. It would work for either a 14” snare batter or a 14” tom batter or resonant head hoop, which is what is stated in the ad.

Don’t know why you didn’t get a response. Try again.

If he's not a parts stripper, then where does he get all of his parts from?

Counterhoop does repairs and buys parts and sell's not a stripper. Its like myself I do repair and have tons of parts here unfortunately I don't put them up for sale due to that at some time I may need them you never know.

Like many of us collectors, he has accumulated a lot of parts over the years.

Yes, he has accumulated a TON of parts over the years! My only real issue with "Counterhoop" is that he's asking way too much for parts that I would never put on a refurb or restoration. Some of his prices suggest that he really doesn't want to "part" with them! LoLoLoLo

Maybe the reason it s being described as a tom reso is because it came off the bottom of a tom. Of course as has been stated there is no difference between this hoop and other 14” hoops except a snare side hoop.

I didn't say misrepresentation.

I'm not familiar "reso" as part of a description and there are asterisks in his item headings on ebay.

Just wondered if they specialize in re-makes or original vintage or both.

I still haven't heard back from but see folks saying good things about him.

I'm not much of an ebayer,

I checked my messages and the one I saw I thought was the one I sent was actually from Counter hoop to ME. lol he responded promptly.

He stated the hoop was from a 20's or 30's Ludwig drum. Just what I wanted so I bought it.

A little pricey maybe but at least I found one. $118 with shipping.

If memory serves I only paid $5 for the drum at a yard sale years ago. So I can splurge a little on parts.

No. He takes drums apart, down to their screws, and sells the parts. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but please don't say that he's accumulating parts to resell...that's not what he's doing.

The term "reso" means "resonant", meaning the head on the bottom of drum (that helps the drum to resonate). It doesn't mean reproduction.
