So, a friend of mine sent me an email the other day, showing me a kit he recently got for free. His brother-in-law was moving into a new house and happened to find several drum and trap cases in the basement. The brother-in-law asked his son if he had any interest in them and, when the answer was no, asked my friend if he'd like them for his son, who's a beginner drummer. Without even knowing what was inside, my friend quickly answered in the affirmative, drove over to pick up his "treasure", and didn't even open up the cases until he got home. Well, I think he did pretty well for himself, especially since he got everything for free! I should be so lucky! He mentioned that he'd love to find the matching snare but that the asking prices he's seen to date have been way beyond his budget. Regardless of which snare he ends up using with the kit, I would imagine that his son considers himself one lucky boy!
Nice Basement Find!
Now that is a great gift.
Amazing! How could you not see any value to that?
Thank you!

Wow! The man's son is one very fortunate kid. A decent snare drum should be easy to find for a reasonable price. Two minutes on eBay showed that he could get a solid white Vistalite snare drum. If it were me, I'd prefer this to any metal shelled snare drum. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-LUDWIG-5-X-14-WHITE-VISTALITE-SNARE-DRUM/264299513838?hash=item3d897a87ee:g:~IEAAOSwYK1bAH8d&frcectupt=true

I agree. I think he'd love to find this snare. Unfortunately, the asking prices are beyond what he'd be in a position to pay.
What a find, all I ever get is a sore back when people move.
