Leedy and Ludwig snare cleanup?

Loading...

I recently purchased this snare. Its in great shape overall but Im thinking of cleaning up all of the hardware and the shell. Apparently it was owned by a heavy smoker. It does show some build up or maybe just aged hardware. Its hard for me to tell whether the wrap has any effect. I did use a magic eraser on part of the hoop and that seemed to take some of the build up off as seen in the pic. What would you suggest for cleaning the hardware and shell? Should I just leave it as is?

Thanks for your advice.

That looks to be Nickle not Chrome so don't treat it the same. Use a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water after a mild dish soap or laundry soap clean. NEVER SOAK IN THE VINEGAR SOLUTION...EVER.

Windex also does well on Nickle. 50/50, not straight vinegar.
