Rogers holiday bass drum

Loading...

Hi,

Another request from France :

I have recently bought a Rogers 20x14" Holiday bas drum.

I have a few questions for the Rogers experts about this drum.

This bass drum have no Swivomatic mounting system and cymbal arm mounting. Was it a special order ?

Inside this bass drum, the finish is grey, no Granitone.

Is this normal with Dayton production or has this drum been repainted ?

here's some pictures :

With a number in that range, it is highly possible it is repainted. Bass drum spurs only, this was possibly part of a Bellson double bass kit.

Great ! I haven't thought it could be from a double bass kit.

Thanks

Right on the double bass outfit but it was the other one... Timbale Twin. Bellson bass drums were larger and with mounts for cymbal arm or tom arm. Shown in the same size and color in the 67/68 cat. Twin 20"s no mounts. Dayton tag flat gray interior was found on Wildwood Dayton interiors as well. Could be stock proper. Do you have an edge shell pic of the paint interior? Peace, Gary

Might be repainted....not sure from those pics. Ploughman is correct in the serial number being up there for flat grey paint. By then it was speckled. Curious about the edges even more from those last shots. Looks like the edges are grey too. Also in the first pics are the nails bent inside covered in grey as well? Thanks for the pics! Peace, Gary

Thanks for the follow through with an extra edge pic. The Ploughman wins with the intitial gut call of repaint. More pics of Rogers drums...yes please. Always curious about those virgin top bass drums when found. They existed in catalog outfits(some years) or asked for by request. The following red was found as a 20bass, 12+13 toms with 2 on the floor 16+18. Mr. Curtis the good drumjunkie found me the additional 14flr with the same leg mounts as the others. I added the snare as well. Came with a Slingerland cob metal snare I gave to a Slingerland local friend. More Rogers pics!!!:

Peace, Gary

The others drums are not the same finish, but not the same serial.

They were made in Cleveland, Holiday model too, 13" and 16".

I will more pictures when I will receive all the missinf drum parts.
