That's what we're trying to find out. He's a friend from church, so I would rather help him get the best price even if it means I can't afford it myself.

It needs serious cleanup, new heads. I'll compare it against ads on reverb and ebay.

Current sets
2018 Precision Drum (natural maple, 10/12/13/16/20)
Gretsch USA: 1958 3-ply (white pearl, 12/16/20), 1976 6-ply (12/13/16/22), 1998 6-ply (walnut, 8/10/12/14/16/20)
Slingerland: 1963 (BDP, 13/16/22), 1966 (Sparkle red, 13/16/20)

Remember "asking ain't gettin" check eBay's completed items.

Despite what people are trying to sell them for I won't pay more than $200 for a pioneer in any condition.

I like Drums...
1963 Ludwig Downbeat Champagne Sparkle
1964 Leedy (Slingerland) Blue n Silver Duco
1964 Ludwig Club Date Sparkling Silver Pearl
1966 Ludwig Super Classic Sparkling Silver Pearl
1968 Gretsch round badge modern jazz orange stain
1972 Slingerland 85N Pop outfit Light Blue Pearl
1976 Ludwig Vistalite clear
1981 Gretsch SSB Gran Prix Rosewood
1987 Yamaha Turbo Tour Custom Mellow Yellow
1991 Pearl Export Ferrari Red

The complete package (case, stand, pad, etc. as opposed to just the snare) may make it worth a little more to a collector. Seems to be in great shape and shouldn't take too much effort to clean it up. 6 lugs may not get you a wide tuning range (should favor the lower tunings well), but these shells, as stated earlier, were excellent.

We've agreed on a price we both can live with. I'll get it this weekend and start tinkering with it.

Thank you everybody!
