I own a Rogers 10 lug COB snare drum and was hoping someone could tell me the year it was made. I bought it new in 1978. Serial # 27530

Thanks for your help.

Hi Mike...and Welcome to the forum!

An educated guess says that your Dynasonic is from the Fullerton era, around 1971 I believe.

I am just curious, if you bought it new wouldn't it be a 1978 Dynasonic?

I didn't even notice that! Still, the serial number given is from the very early 70's.

I answered your message...…… question... Is the badge an oval shaped badge or slightly a little past square, but not quite rectangle? If oval ...1970/ early 71. If the other, then 1975./early 1976. Does it have a dampener?

Unless you have a time machine, a drum (or a cymbal -- more my specialty) has to be manufactured, await shipping, get shipped to the retailer, possibly sit on the shelf at the retailer, then get sold to the customer. How long each step takes is variable. There is a distribution of waiting times between manufacture and retail sale which I'm still trying to assess accurately in the case of cymbals.

Very true! What we need is for the OP to get back to us, hopefully with pictures!
