What snare am I playing??

Loading...

Ok. So when I would play in Europe back in the day, I got a 14" Ludwig snare as a rental and fell in love with it. It was the best sounding snare I've ever played. The rental company refused to sell it to me. Recently I've been searching for what model it was.

Well.... I found a video of me playing it! Thank God for youtube,

Please help me indentify this snare. THX!

Looks like a 4'x14 Buddy Rich "Be-Bop" later to be called the "Compacto"

Or..

the 4"x14" Downbeat..

I have no idea about the snare sorry but, surprise, surprise, I do know the band. Very cool (although I think you had some far finer moments than that 10cc cover). And still going strong? Cool1

Oh man, now I'm gonna have that Scooby Snacks song stuck in my head all day.

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?
