Fibes have no specific dating system, and their use of serial numbers was primarily for inventory control, so the badges .. there were FOUR different styles .. and certain aspects of their hardware, get us a working date of manufacture. That said, you have the fourth and final badge used before Fibes/CFMartin sold to Jim Corder, and that puts your drum anywhere from late 1974 to 1979. Pics will show the build/hardware/wrap, and that may get us a little closer. 1974 to 1979 is your range though.

Thank you Tommyp,
I will take and upload pics of hardware soon

Hopefully you got a complete drum with the original hardware and no extra holes.
You'd be surprised at the bad mods that have been done to some of these drums over the years.
Hello!
Looks GREAT! Very clean, and no extra holes. Goes without saying that your drum is the Fibes Crystalite shell which was their version of the then very popular acrylics. Fibes were much higher quality than the Ludwig Vistalite's. I had one bought NEW back in 1973. I'll attach a pic. Notice the rectangular badge on mine? That badge preceded yours, although both are under CFMartin ownership. Otherwise, your drum still falls within the late 1974 through 1979 range .. but .. I'm thinking more mid 70's based on the fact that it's a Crystalite shell. So anywhere from say 1975 on up. That will be an excellent playing/sounding snare drum with exceptional articulation and projection. Contingent on what heads you choose will change the sound of the drum of course! Very nice Dule! Put up some pics when you have it all assembled!

Are the snares included?
I have that same exact drum and had a bit of a problem tracking down the correct snares for it (although eventually I found like the last NOS set of replacement snares anywhere, and they fit perfectly).

True enough on finding OEM Fibes wires .. and .. truth be told, the quality of the OEM FIbes wires has always been a tad low. However!, PureSound came out with exact Fibes SFT replacements, but those are no longer made .. but .. seeing as I have five Fibes snare drums, and three of them with the SFT throw/butt, I had to find a source for exact fit wires, and I did! PEARL S-025 wires fit the Fibes SFT throw/butt perfectly with no modification needed. They are nice quality wires too, and pretty inexpensive. Under $20.00 for a set! These wires are for the PEARL Free Floater line of snare drums actually, but fortunately for all us Fibes owners/players, they fit perfectly!
