3 Ply Finnish Birch with Beech re-rings

This. Not a maple single ply. I have a 60's, 1182 model (6 lug). I'm 99% sure its the same shell.

Trilok that is one great looking snare you have there. You know as well as i do premier shells have always been 3 ply birch with beech re rings. Cant believe christopher just cant be bothered to show more detailed pics of the shell he claims as a 1 ply.

Either the OP hasn't checked back in or prefers not to deal with this anymore. Lately, this has become an all-too common occurrence; a new member joins the family to ask a specific question. Our members give lots of advice, yet the OP hardly ever responds back. Notice that the OP has only 2 posts and hasn't responded in 5 days. Maybe just busy? Possibly. I hope he does get back to us, though. I know we'd all like to solve the "mystery" of his shell!

I agree with IDFF. He has probably took heads off and seen with his own eyes its a 3 ply. Im sure most of us have busy lives, but finding a bit of time to help forum members can be fitted into most of our time. Lets wait and see.

It is appearing to be another all too common "drive by" .

I like to give the benefit of the doubt and be wrong rather the other way around. Trilok got a nice drum but this one has different hoops and rods so god knows what he`s got. I`m not a Premier guy at all so I`d also take the advice of those that know better here.

If it is a solid shell with Premier trim he may have "Frank`s" drum.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Yes, different hardware, but the same shells were largely used across the various lines. Not uncommon for companies to do that, saves on costs. TS's snare and mine are same era/same badge.

My guess is TS was hoping it was something rare, got correct info here, check his/her drum, and had it confirmed...and has moved on.

Oh well, always nice to see a cool drum :)

Pretty much why I give the benefit of the doubt first,..they end up not liking the truth or you for giving it to them. Both yours and his were before Premier purchased Dallas, which is where most if not all British companies got their supplies. Premier did not have a foundry or wood mill, Dallas did.

It is my opinion that posting incorrect information in an authoritative way is a disservice to everyone. Opinions/guesses are fine but should be stated as such.
