From DRUMR69

Another one I just picked up.I believe maybe 1959 OBP.Came with bongos to boot.Snare has special ordered Radio King strainer by original owner.Wayne

NICE!

You "beat" me to it!

I was very near grabbing those (something else came up first) so congrats on such an awesome score! That is one awesome set of vintage American drums! WITH matching bongos!!! Eye Ball

That OBP kit may be a 'skosh' older than 59' because of the black interior paint. I'll have to ask Jeremy, but I think the painted black shells were gone by 59. (?)

Sweet kit. I love anything W&A. Classy, eye-catching and extremely well-built drums every time. Those guys built drums like the Germans built bunkers in WWII. Made to last forever.

F'n drummers! :p

The above is why you don't see very many great stand up comics who were once drummers since Charlie Callas died! I'm going to learn how to duck those terrible puns whenever you hurl them our way.

What do you say to a drummer in a three-piece suit?

Will the defendant please rise!

How do you get a drummer off of your porch?

Pay him ten bucks for the pizza.

How do you know when the stage is level?

The drool comes out of both sides of the drummers mouth.

From Dan Boucher

Sweet kit. 16 deep floor tom, correct? That seems to have been a specialty of W&A in that era.

Thanks! If I remember correctly, it's a 15" deep by 14" diameter. I don't think it was 16" deep.

Yup!

I went for it.

Man I love this set. I'm still looking for the matching snare!

All the drums are signed except the FT which has the black interior & GREEN felt mufflers! It's the most insane combo of parts! Take a look a picture of the old Remo head & FT. It sounds fantastic!

Check out my article in NSMD below on the kit & BIG Thanks to Wood & Weather Drums Shop for this killer combo kit of American drum awesomeness.
