Assembly of the "new" Dynasonic

Loading...

Hello to all you Rogers fanatics out there! I stumbled upon this link, with some good pictures and a great article about how the Dynasonic snare drums are assembled at Pork Pie. http://drummagazine.com/theres-a-little-pork-pie-in-every-new-rogers-drum/

I also read over at DFO about the possibility of complete kits! We'll see!

That's what I would love to see, but imagine it would be really expensive to duplicate. Still, they've already duplicated the snare rail and muffler. Although, that's probably fairly easy compared to a Swivo arm and collet plates.

Interesting evaluation. Seems against the norm. Please explain.

Yeah...they sucked so bad that the Swivo holder was installed on many of Ringo's kit's! Honestly, what is it that you don't like about Swivo hardware? You need to view them from what was available at the time. Nothing came close to Swivo hardware. Rail consolette holders were terrible! Rogers Knobby leg and cymbal brackets held fast, with no slippage. The Swivo ball and socket for tom arms and cymbal tilter was ingenious! Would love to hear what you don't like about them, rather than your blanket statement.

All the Swivo hardware on my Rogers 1966 Headliner is still perfect!

Watch Chicago at Tanglewood at about twenty minutes.

Seraphines Rogers kit proceeds to fall apart.

And notice he doesn't use the tom holder ,but a snare stand.

Seen it up close and personal while being a drum roadie for Colaiuta back in the day.

pgm554 constantly sites that one instance ... he is absolutely in the extreme minority

he uses that one example everywhere ...

they sucked so bad that everyone from Ringo, Bonzo, Charlie Watts, Mitch Mitchell, Keith Moon, Dennis Wilson , Ginger Baker ... etc etc etc ... all had their tom mounts switched to swivomatic

Rogers hardware was so far ahead of everything else made at the time ... and it wasn't even close

as for reproductions ... Steve Maxwell offered some swivo repro for a brief period

not a huge fan of the big R stuff ... but that is mostly because of the way it looks

I would love to see them repro the swivo stuff ...

I figure if you're going to do it ... do it right ...

they sure did the Dyna-Sonic right
