Best places for 1920s Gretsch drum history and appraisal, plus axillary percussion?

Loading...

Hello, fellow vintage drum owners!

I have a Gretsch set from my great grandmother from the 1920s which includes a bass drum and several pedals, several snares, a WWI marching drum (not Gretsch), cymbals, stands, a xylophone, and a big bag of drum sticks.

Being a drummer of 20 years, I know a little bit about the subject. However, every time I've sat down to locate any material online about these particular drums I can't find anything!

I was wondering if you could suggest some forums or resources I might be able to reach out to to see if I can find out more about them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I do apologize for not posting photos. I can submit some links to images in the next day or so.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

jaison!

WELCOME to the VDF! .. and .. we really request that you use pics/attachments instead of links to pics. The reasons are many, but the main reason would be that eventually, ALL links go dead! Then, the pics/text/history of the thread/post is gone! PLEASE do use attachments here. Members will help you with sizing and putting them up if needed. The management THANKS YOU!
