Early 70's to 80's Slingerland identification.

Could anyone help me verify what type of shells this kit may have? I see the badges date it to 70-Early 80's.

Does that mean made in USA?

I want to buy this kit it's priced at $400

Plenty of mods here. 584xxx serial is end of Niles era ('86). 5-ply maple/poplar shells would be expected. Is serial 196xxx (mid 70's) the bass drum? Could be 3-ply with re-rings or 5-ply. All US made if original.

He only took close ups of the badges so I couldn't tell you. They were listed as "white mahogany" which I was sure wasn't true. I assumed poplar with maple a possibility. I could ask him which shell is the 196 if necessary.

My main concern is just not paying too much for them.

400 seems like average but I'm not very knowledgeable about Slingerland.
