Nice drum. What year is it from? I think my next project will be more challenging because the veneer seems so thin and it’s damaged in a couple of spots. I need to do a little reasearch on it to see what the other plys are made of. More on that in another thread.

Great save of a cool old Ludwig drum !!

The catalog were this drum shows up is the 1922 catalog on page 19. I could not find it anywhere else where is offers a maple shell. From the stamps inside the shell, I’m concluding that the shell is from February 1941 before the war.

I’ll send a screenshot from my computer since I can’t seem to do it from my iPad.

Here is the screen shot from the 1922 catalogue. I think on the iPad it is a .png file and when I put it on my computer, it becomes a .jpg file.

My clear ambassador resonant head arrived today so I set the old kit up. Hope you enjoy the photos of my project.

Beautiful! The floor tom looks great with the other drums. I too have wanted to do a project like that but like drumdoug I just talk the talk.
